Massachusetts VI - Cape Cod & Islands
The MA VI Chapter was formed in January of 1976, with some of the members who formed the Chapter originally belonging to MA I (Brockton) back when it first started in 1974. We are one of 56 different Chapters of the regional Northeast Conference (NEC), which includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island & Vermont in the United States, as well as New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario (Eastern), Prince Edward Island & Quebec Provinces in Canada. Our main event, which we established in 1976 and is always held on the first Sunday in May, is our annual Blessing of the Bikes. We currently have 15 members in our Chapter, who ride a variety of different bikes and are located all across the Cape, as well as 1 from Maine.
Our Chapter meetings are generally the first Tuesday of every month, most often morning breakfasts at 9 AM, and we meet at different locations across the Cape, as well as members' homes from time to time. The months of January & February are usually "on hold", due to our New England Winters, and we don't have a meeting the month of July, so as not to conflict with the International Convention & Independence Day. For other meetings or events, check our Calendar. With the exception of our annual Christmas Social, other Blue Knights, as well as qualified, prospective candidates, are always invited to come join us at our meetings or on our rides. Get to know us....
The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Inc. was formed in 1974 by a group of eight Law Enforcement Officers from the Bangor & Brewer, Maine area who rode motorcycles together. These LEOs formed the Club as a fraternal and social organization that would be family oriented, improve the image of motorcyclists, promote motorcycle safety, improve the interaction of LEOs and the general public, assist with charitable organizations, and especially to have fun riding their bikes. It didn't matter what particular Law Enforcement agency you worked for or what brand of motorcycle you rode, everyone who was an LEO with powers of arrest was welcome to join. Word of this new club quickly spread, and chapters formed in Massachusetts, New England, throughout the United States, Canada, and eventually around the world. Even with some other Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs starting up over the years, we are by far the largest, considered by many to be "The Good Guys" and without a doubt "The Original", a cut or two above the rest, both easily recognized and widely respected where ever we go. We now have almost 20,000 members in 11 Conferences in 650 Chapters located in 29 countries around the world!
In addition to various Chapters holding their own events all year long, most of the regional Conferences hold Spring and Fall weekend meetings, which are hosted by Chapters and include food & drink, business meetings, sales booths, raffles, tour rides, banquets, award presentations, dancing, socializing, more motorcycle riding, and a fun time for all. In addition, there is a week long International Convention held every year in July with a LOT more of the same shared by Blue Knights from around the world! Rank has no privileges in the Blue Knights, we're all the same, enjoying each others' friendship and riding experiences and, as the Blue Knights motto says, we Ride With Pride.
